The Benefits of Oregano

Oregano (Scientific name: Origanum vulgare) is also known as Wild Marjoram, Mountain Mint, Origanum, Wintersweet and Winter Marjoram.

Hand of Hope: Samuel Alexander Armas

A picture began circulating in November. It should be "The Picture of the Year," or perhaps, "Picture of the Decade." It won't be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the paper, you probably will never see it.

Tracey Connelley, Baby P's Evil Mom, Shows NO Remorse

I have never been affected by any story as much as Baby P's story has affected me. Yesterday evening, I found myself sobbing twice! I just can't get over the sheer horror of the story.

Baby P's Murderers -- Why Are They Being Protected?

In my country, it has never happened before that the media and the people have been forbidden to actually reveal the names and faces of TC and SB, the murderers of Baby P.

That Winter The Wind Blows Finale: Did Oh Soo Die?

Over the holy week break, I spent the entire four days just watching the 15 episodes of this Korean show. Yes, I am a self-confessed Korean drama addict. I already have my favorite actors and actresses; albeit, I don’t know their names.

Rats -- I Hate Them!

Cute little bugger, right?

Wrong!

Rats - they're disgusting. Period. This is probably why I was not able to fully appreciate the Ratatouille movie. The thought of a rat handling my food -- just disgusting. The most icky part of the movie was that scene where hundreds of little rats were all over the kitchen, cooking. ew.ew.ew.

I am supposed to be asleep, but earlier at 2 in the morning, the lamp shade fell and then this was followed by Erbe's horrified scream. Apparently, a huge rat walked on his face. Ew.ew.ew.

Now, I can't sleep -- I'm obsessing over that blasted rat. I had Erbe scoured for him all over the room, but we couldn't find the little bugger. Oh, well. I have to get one of our six cats to look for that disgusting creature. Yes, we have s-i-x cats. The mother cat just keep popping them out. My mother used to dispose of cats, but after she accidentally committed cat genocide, she has ceased disposing of cats. She just tolerates them. Unfortunately, all of them are USELESS! They just go around ignoring the huge farm rats. I can't blame them -- the rats are so huge you can liken them to cows.☺ I won't mess with cows if I were a little itty bitty cat.

Anyway, enough about cats, rats, and cows.

I am still obsessed over Twilight -- nothing has changed with regard to that, except now, I keep seeing Quentin Tarantino's face every time I look at Robert Pattinson and I have Tinay to thank for that. Hmp.

It's like with Shane West. I loved the movie a Walk to Remember, but Erbe ruined that for me as well. He told me Shane West looks like Vhong Navarro. O.K. I can't very well go gaga over a Vhong Navarro look alike, right? Geeze.

I'm going back to work now. Signing off!

P___ ina! I am Not Sorry by Mar Roxas

P___ ina! (SOB) …Patayin ang Gloria-forever Cha-cha na ito!” [Let’s kill this Gloria-forever Charter change!], opposition Sen. Mar Roxas shouted at last Friday’s rally in Makati City to denounce moves by Malacañang allies to revise the Constitution through a constituent assembly.

This has been quite controversial.

Should he be sorry? Well, perhaps, he could have chosen a better word. But I think it was just apt. It expressed how I feel -- perhaps, what you feel as well. It expressed the rage that everyone suffering from the Dwarf's gluttonous regime is feeling. So, no, I don't think he should be sorry.

Apparently, he feels the same --

A Privilege Speech on last Friday’s Anti-Cha-Cha rally
Delivered on December 16, 2008, Tuesday
Session Hall, Senate of the Philippines

Mr. President, may I take a moment of the chamber’s time to rise on a matter of personal privilege.

Una: gaya noong Biyernes, magsasalita ako nang deretsahan ngayon: I AM NOT SORRY. I am not sorry for speaking my mind and telling the truth as I see it to be. I am not sorry for expressing my real feelings and my rage in behalf of the people whom I love.

They are entitled to their opinion, and I respect it. I AM NOT SORRY.

What are the real issues?

This government has systematically ravaged our political and economic life.
This government has twisted our institutions to suit its self-serving interests.
This government has torn apart our nation.

Mamundok. Mag-armas at lumaban.

Ayaw nating mangyari ang mga ito. We do not want our people to suffer in silence, nor to have to leave their families, nor have to take up arms. Kailangan nating kapitan ang katotohanan. Kailangan nating ihiyaw ito. We must shout out the truth so that we can be free. We must break the apathy and the paralysis. Our outrage will move us forward. I must speak of the people’s anguish.

Kasama ng taumbayan, I say: I AM NOT SORRY.

Obsessed with Edward Cullen

I've become so obsessed with Twilight, the series, and Robert Pattinson. I have read the book -- yeah, all of them!

I have even read the Midnight Sun Draft.

I have watched the movie so many times over the last three days. I have it in my cellphone. I am obsessed. It's not with Robert Pattison per se -- it's Edward Cullen! He's the freaking culprit and because Rob Pattinson was able to pull off Edward so beautifully, I have become obsessed with him as well.

Anyway, here is the link to the books.

Currently Listening to: Let Me Sign by Rob Pattinson

Twilight Review

I have just finished watching Twilight.
It had my insides twisting! It's the kind of movie you would want to watch over and over again.
I found myself holding my breath and then just giving in to these huge sighs.
It's incredible. You really have to see it.
I LOVE it!
And yes, it has to have a sequel.
I fell in love with Edward Cullen.
He's my kind of vampire. I'd gladly have him bite my neck to eternal kingdom come. And Rob Pattinson played him beautifully.
Well, anyway, if you want to see it, click here.

My Aircon is Frozen!

4:00 in the morning.
The air conditioner suddenly started to make this buzzing sound.
It was very noisy.
I asked Erbe to open it up to check.
Here's what we found.

The Regular Caller

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

We don't have electricity 3 days or more every week. It sucks big time because I am forced to work at night and suffer the heat while sleeping in the morning. Fortunately, the air conditioner has been fixed so I can turn the thing on full blast at night, so the room will stay cool for several hours during the day.

Apparently, they are changing the Diversion Road's electric poles. If you are not from here, trust me, it's a really long road. I figured they'd be finished by the turn of the century. Meanwhile, I'd be gritting my teeth 'til Kingdom come.

Anyway, since the regular power interruptions started, I became a regular caller of the electric company here. I call whenever I want. Yes, even at 3 o'clock in the morning! I figured if I can't sleep during the day because of the power outage, then they don't deserve to sleep at night -- or at least, have their sleep interrupted by a shrieking telephone.

I call them like three times a day or more -- actually, more. I even get Erbe to call them up just to ask, "What time will the electricity be back?" even though I know it's usually scheduled to be back by 5 pm.

I call so often that I am the household electricity reporter.

"Nana Viol, there is no electricity tomorrow, so you should wash your clothes now.
"

"Ma, there is no electricity tomorrow, so you should get Cho Melchor to finish what ever he is welding today."
Poor Cho Melchor who was ill was forced to work.

I didn't realize I was calling so often though -- which, I know, is absurd considering how many times I call them everyday -- until now when I called and heard someone said, "Si babaeng taga-Mabolo na naman yan.*"

*(It's that woman from Mabolo again)

If You Seek Amy - Is It about Amy Winehouse?

This is Britney Spear's If You Seek Amy. You would think that she's singing about Amy Winehouse. Well, she's not. The line is actually clever.

If you would listen to the song, you'd hear this line --

"But all of the boys and all of the girls are beggin' to If You Seek Amy"

You'd probably say, "Huh?"

Well, it's actually if(f) you(u) see(c) ka(k) my(me)

Well, I'll be damned. ☺

Crossroads

I am on another crossroad. I have to make some difficult choices. In the end though, I have learned that you cannot really plan your life. You can try but in the end it can take you to a whole lot different direction. You just open yourself to all possibilities and get the most out of every gift that life has to offer.

Right now, what life has to offer for me is being with Paige.

People can easily say that sacrifices have to be made because I have responsibilities -- "Grab the opportunity! Sacrifice!"

Well, that's easy for them to say because they're not going to leave their daughter behind for god knows how long!

I don't really dream of great wealth. I just want to have enough. Sadly, enough is a relative word. What may be enough for me is pathetically lacking to some. I guess, I just have to make a choice.

UPDATE: I am not going anywhere.
