May Vecina Should Have Paid for Her Crime!

Justice should ALWAYS prevail.

May Vecina was found guilty. In fact, she admits that she did commit the horrendous crime. Her excuse -- no matter how strong she thinks it is -- does not make it okay for her to kill those children! She should pay for her crime.

Why is it that by virtue of being a Filipino, we turn a blind eye to this fact. She killed a child! No, scratch that, she murdered a 7-year-old child!

That is inexcusable.

Death penalty may be too much, but she should still pay for what she did. She may have suffered in the hands of her employers, but she took three lives in return! What she did went beyond demanding an eye for an eye!

Commutation wouldn't have been given if she committed the crime inside the country! She would have spent 20 to 40 years in prison! Nobody would asked for her pardon! We would have crucified her if she committed the crime here.

Double standards is at work here. We raised hell at Daniel Smith and refused to release him for allegedly raping an all-too-willing victim (as Nicole now allegedly admits). Why do we then ask pardon for a woman who admits killing three people? Why not ask pardon for everyone who committed murder inside the country?

Is murder okay then if it is committed overseas? Are we going to treat overseas murderers as hometown heroes then? Are we turning into a nation of hypocrites?

Reposting: Prince Charming Should Die

I came across this old blog entry of mine and I decided to repost it minus the curses --

I grew up with these crazy fairy tales in my head that really made me expect and set impossible pictures of a prince who'd come in charging on a white horse and rescue me from the evil witch! (Technically though, where do you get witches and castles nowadays?! Or a white horse for that matter? They cost shit of bucks!) Bah! It's those friggin' princes who need rescuing!

Anyways, my repertoire really is not on princes and how pathetically weak they really are! It is more of how politically incorrect fairy tales are.

For instance, let's take that friggin' thief Jack who climb up the beanstalk.. Who the hell made him a hero? What did he do?

He is a bloody criminal! That's what he is!
He took the harp and the goose from the giant! That's thievery, right?! Who said he has the right to take those things? He wasn't even contented with just being a mere thief? He bloody well went ahead and murder the poor giant!

Just a thought: I wonder why the giant in this story was so particular with an English man?? "Fi fie foe! I smell the blood of an Englishman.." Why not Spanish? American? Chinese?



Then there is Cinderella... Sleeping Beauty and of course, Snow White -- the fairest maiden of all.

The story always goes like this.. "There was a beautiful girl..."

Can they be for once, just bloody once, be freaking ordinary?!?!?! I know you'd likely argue and say I'm being too literal, right? But who do you tell these stories to? That's right, kids!

Have u ever heard of any 4-year-old writing a dissertation on these fairy tales?! Of course not. Kids take these stories as bible truths. Unfortunately, they carry these insane expectations into adulthood. Let's just leave the kids thinking that only beautiful girls win the bloody wimpy princes..Geeze! Reality is different. It's no wonder we have distorted expectations.

To my way of thinking, the Prince should have met Cinderella while she was busily cleaning the fireplace with soots on her face. We'd know for sure if the Prince is a freakin' wimp and if he could love her for ever and ever.

And then there is that irritating story of The Princess and the Pea. Can you really feel a pea placed underneath layers and mounds of blankets. WTF?!

Fairy tales, bah! They should have written fairy tales for lesbians and gays, I say!

Obsessed with Edward Cullen

I've become so obsessed with Twilight, the series, and Robert Pattinson. I have read the book -- yeah, all of them!

I have even read the Midnight Sun Draft.

I have watched the movie so many times over the last three days. I have it in my cellphone. I am obsessed. It's not with Robert Pattison per se -- it's Edward Cullen! He's the freaking culprit and because Rob Pattinson was able to pull off Edward so beautifully, I have become obsessed with him as well.

Baby P's Mother Gets 5 Years Imprisonment? WTF?

People do not understand why I am so "obsessed" with Baby P's story. So far, all I've been writing here is his story. At least, I have stopped crying now every time I come across his picture. To be honest, I don't think many people know of this little boy's story. Elizabeth Fritzi's was covered in our local news, but Baby P's story was not.

Anyway, have you read this article from Daily Mail? Apparently, the English public will have to pay millions of pounds to help Baby P's mother get a new identity once she is out of prison. Her lawyers have to prove that her life is in danger -- and well, this is not hard to prove considering how everyone is calling out for her blood.

Similar orders have been granted for other notorious convicts - including the Soham murderer's girlfriend Maxine Carr, child killer Mary Bell and the boys who murdered toddler James Bulger.

Apparently, she'd likely get 5 years at most in prison.

The mother, who has given birth again while in jail, faces a maximum of 14 years when she is sentenced next month for allowing the death of a child. But as she has already spent time in prison on remand, she could be free in as little as five years.

Legal rules mean that the 16 months Baby P's mother has spent on remand will reduce the time she has to spend in jail by 32 months, and she will receive a reduced sentence for pleading guilty to allowing her son's death.

I am not English, but I think this is the ULTIMATE insult. Honest taxpayers have to pay millions of pounds in order to protect someone against -- well, the public. And 5 years?! Seriously! 5 Years! That's all she gets for killing her child. Okay, let's not get into a rhetorical discussion about the crime she was actually convicted with because no matter where you look at it -- she killed her child. That's that. And you know what's even more ironic? She has not even shown any remorse. The Daily Mail reports that --

Today Baby P's mother is being kept in a segregation unit at Holloway jail for her own safety. She has astonished prison officers by laughing and joking with them. According to one, she has shown 'no sign of contrition whatsoever'.

WTF?

Baby P's Murderers -- Why Are They Being Protected?

In my country, it has never happened before that the media and the people have been forbidden to actually reveal the names and faces of TC and SB, the murderers of Baby P. Many people are likely wondering why the government is seemingly protecting the murderers of Baby P?

They say that the reason behind this is to give these people the chance to live a normal life once they are out of prison. The government is also protecting these people from vigilantes -- like me -- who want to chop their heads off and feed them to a hungry pack of wolves. Bloodthirsty, huh?

Anyway, I understand that the government has to recognize that these people have rights as well. And the court has to take these rights into consideration. I understand this. I know how the due process work and I know all the rights of an accused -- well, in our country's setting of course. But no matter how much I tell myself that they have rights, I always end up saying, "Rights, my ass!" They are not human. They should go to Pluto and perhaps borrow some rights there. They should have no rights. In fact, if there were capital punishment, these people are practically DEAD MEN walking. Ironically though, they were not even convicted of a capital crime, which is really amazing. I'd even go far to actually suggest that the UK government should also review their laws on these kinds of cases.

Anyway, I was thinking -- do these people deserve a normal life?

Do they deserve to be forgiven for what they did to that innocent beautiful boy? Do they deserve to have a second chance? Do you think that it is possible that they'd change? Is it possible that a stint in the prison would change Steven Barker's tendencies to torture babies? It is possible that Tracey Connelley could still be a better mother? Does she have the right to her children? What kind of life do you think they deserve?

On the other hand, do people really have the right to know what they look like? Do people have the right to know their names?

This is the latest picture of Baby P that was posted by Daily Mail. This picture was taken when Baby P was 11 months. Six months later, he was dead.
After seeing the picture and the traces of pain inflicted on this little angel, I started bawling again.



Look at that mark near his eye. I keep thinking that he was so small. He couldn't fight back. I know because my daughter is 17 months old and she has little arms and little body. She can get hurt so easily if we are not careful.

A mother is supposed to protect her child fiercely from any harm. I can't imagine how she was able to bear with his cries. I want to say that TC deserves a second chance, but in my heart, I can't say that. She doesn't have a heart and you can't be a mother or a human being if you don't have a heart.

Now, what about SB? Well, I just want him to suffer the way he made Baby P suffer -- I want him to suffer more. I know that's not a very Christian thing to say, but that guy is pure evil.

Jumping on the Wagon

I shouldn't be actually concerned about Obama or Clinton but I find myself seriously considering who I want to win.

Okay, I'm stuck in this freaking third world country but my day's work comes in US Dollars. Lately, the poor performance of the US Dollars in the world market has severely affected my own resources. No, it's not Gloria Arroyo's great economic machinations that has improved the peso. It is a fact that the US dollar has not been faring well. Ask any economic-conscious American.

Well, yeah -- the world does not revolve around me; and yes, the American people will not vote for their president just so I'd get a higher salary. Sue me then; but in my little world, that's my concern.

IF the next American President will haul the American economy from the dumpsters; perhaps, my salary will rise again. Miracle! (background music of angels coming from heaven playing)

But who do I want to win?

I have to admit that I liked Barack Obama when I saw him with his family in Oprah. That Oprah! She always gets to me! You'd actually hear me say sometimes, "Oprah said." As if it's the Bible truth if Oprah said it.

My choice has nothing to do with Obama's platform of government or plan.
I just like him because --
a. He's cute. You gotta admit he is.
b. I always have dreamt of a Black American President.
c. Gloria Arroyo has turned me off Women Politicians. You would have thought that being a woman (Arroyo), she would have a heart. Women politicians scare me. You just don't know what they're capable of.

I know. These are pathetic reasons; not befitting a law graduate.

LINEUP

Earlier, my husband and I were watching the news and agreeing on the people we are going to vote for, talking about the sheer audacity of some who even considered running let alone actually filing for candidacy, and considering the likelihood of some winning and some losing...

Here is a summary of what we talked about:



Arroyo. Yes, he is with the Administrative party, but we are still going to vote for him. He has never failed to show that he is a good politician and that he always had seemed to be always backing up what is right, or at least what I think is right.



Pangilinan. I think his decision to run independente is genius but stupid. Well, It is genius because he could never go wrong. He is not taking sides, although impliedly he is actually siding against the administration although independente. Well, I don't think he has a choice anyways. He has been very vocal about his opinion of the dwarf actually robbing the freaking crown from the King. He is also not with the opposition, although they are "adopting" him. He can't be called balimbing. By not siding though with the administration, he lost his chance of having the government's schemes and machinations to scam the votes not work actively for him. On a second thought, he has Sharon Cuneta. That about secures him a senate seat. Well, as for me, I will vote for him because he seems trustworthy enough to give a seat in the Senate to, without the people worrying he'd be making nuclear bombs on the basement of the Senate building or scamming the taxes from the people... his wife is rich enough to buy the whole manila. hehe.



Chiz. I need not explain why. I am voting for him because of crusades to reveal the truth and not falter with fear in the process. Also, Tikya and I thinks he is cute. Dunno why. He reminds me of Bamboo. Probably because of the eyes.



Cayetano. He is like Chiz' right-hand man. I felt sorry for him and at the same time was rather impressed with him when he faced the dwarf's husband.. u know, the one with the big stomach who really likes Pacquiao. I like his courage and I trust that he is still idealistic at this point. It'd be ironic if a few years from now, some hotshot congressman would be accusing him of his own unreported wealth. Not likely at this point, so I can trust the Senate to him. Also, I like his father. That Maalaala Mo Kaya story was a propaganda to wrest votes from people for Peter!



Recto. Why do I only see him when he is campaigning? Or watching his son's contests? Where was he when they senate was debating on the Garci tapes? or the Cha-cha? or fuck! Anything!



Pacquiao. I wish he just sticks with boxing, singing (if you call that singing), and yes, acting! He could try that! Not just the Congress for god sakes! He is going to be some freaking puppet. Whoever convinced Pacquiao to run must be the stupidest person or the shrewdest person in the freaking country! Also, Manny should take note of his coach's advice on that next match lined up. It'd do him good to train for that one than waste his time with Politics dirt.
