The Benefits of Oregano

Oregano (Scientific name: Origanum vulgare) is also known as Wild Marjoram, Mountain Mint, Origanum, Wintersweet and Winter Marjoram.

Hand of Hope: Samuel Alexander Armas

A picture began circulating in November. It should be "The Picture of the Year," or perhaps, "Picture of the Decade." It won't be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the paper, you probably will never see it.

Tracey Connelley, Baby P's Evil Mom, Shows NO Remorse

I have never been affected by any story as much as Baby P's story has affected me. Yesterday evening, I found myself sobbing twice! I just can't get over the sheer horror of the story.

Baby P's Murderers -- Why Are They Being Protected?

In my country, it has never happened before that the media and the people have been forbidden to actually reveal the names and faces of TC and SB, the murderers of Baby P.

That Winter The Wind Blows Finale: Did Oh Soo Die?

Over the holy week break, I spent the entire four days just watching the 15 episodes of this Korean show. Yes, I am a self-confessed Korean drama addict. I already have my favorite actors and actresses; albeit, I don’t know their names.

They Will Always Be Little Boys!

I don't like it. It reminds me of Noah's Ark, but Erbe loves it.

He got it at a bargain price. Well, everything is on sale at LCC (poor mall!) Anyway, the original price was P3,000 for Noah's Ark. He got it for half the price, so he's pretty pleased with himself.

He has been wearing the damn shoes since 8 o'clock yesterday evening. It has been almost 7 hours, and he still refuses to take it off.

He loves it so much that he took a picture of it and set the pic as his phone's wallpaper. Yes, our family picture has been dumped for a picture of his shoes.

Men! They'll always be little boys.

Almost Her Birthday

Should Have Kidnapped Her

She was pounding on the shoe store's glass doors.
She caught my attention because I think she's barely six months old.
She should be inside her crib.
She should be cuddled and showered with kisses.
It's a sad sight.
We see these things everywhere, but it doesn't make it okay.
I wanted to get her though. I always do.
I was just afraid I'd get in trouble if I do so.
But damn was I freaking tempted.

Hand of Hope: Samuel Alexander Armas

A picture began circulating in November. It should be "The Picture of the Year," or perhaps, "Picture of the Decade." It won't be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the paper, you probably will never see it. The picture is that of a 21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by a surgeon named Joseph Bruner.

The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. Little Samuel's mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta. She knew of Dr. Bruner's remarkable surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb.

During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. During the surgery on little Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed, hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger.

The photograph captures this amazing event with perfect clarity. The editors titled the picture, "Hand of Hope." The text explaining the picture begins, "The tiny hand of 21-week-old fetus Samuel Alexander Armas emerges from the mother's uterus to grasp the finger of Dr. Joseph Bruner as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life."

Little Samuel's mother said they "wept for days" when they saw the picture.

She said, "The photo reminds us my pregnancy isn't about disability or an illness, it's about a little person" "The Hand" of the fetus. You can see the actual picture, and it is awesome...incredible.

Rambling and Muttering

I have a pounding headache since yesterday. I have downed Dolfenal and Ponstan to no avail. My scoliosis is giving me hell as well. Oh no, I am not doing well.

I lack sleep due to working at night and the constant pounding (renovations underway) in the morning.

I am grouchy and bitchy.
I need a break.
Badly.

I am far from being perky or happy, so no funny blog entries for me. I'm not in the mood to "spice up" my blog, thank you very much.

The exchange rate fell to P46.00 from two weeks ago P47.00. This sucks! I lost one thousand pesos from Paypal charge and the effing exchange rate.

Michael Jackson died. That sucks - and it sucks that I am affected by it. Who would have friggin' thought?!

Boys over Flowers has lost its appeal - thank God. Unfortunately, that means I need to find something else that will amuse me.

I have Sims 3 in my cp, but I am dying to play Sims 3 in my pc. I tried to buy the game, but I can only do so using Paypal. Unfortunately, the game is not available to people unfortunately located here - or so I was told. Damn.

Erbe has a cold. Mommy has a cold and my little culprit still has a cold as well.

Basically, everything sucks - well, to my tired mind, everything is seemingly doomed.

Oh, well. Might as well start stitching my burial dress. Yes, morbid I know. Sorry.
