No, I did not make it.

My heart is broken.I wanted it so bad. It's not often something happens to me that puts my faith to test. I am such in abject misery right now. Scratch that. I'm utterly depressed, almost clinically even. I wanted that badly for my parents. I have disappointed them a lot of times and I wanted them to be proud of me. Right now, I'm not 28. I am not a mother. I am not married. I am once again my parent's little girl who just wanted to please her mommy so much.I feel such a miserable failure. I've lost all focus and I've lost all directions.I am...

I Got Tagged

I've been tagged twice by Niña and Jade. I'm supposed to write seven things about me that people do not generally know. Since, I've been tagged twice -- I thought, "what the heck?!" So, here goes. (By the way, I posted this before. I am merely reposting it.)1. If we are not really close, you wouldn't know that I wrap my feet with mosquito net when I go to sleep. Now, you'd probably think that's weird but I'll have you know that 2 out of 10 people in this freaking country have the same affliction.2. I love cartoons. I don't think I'll ever grow...

Still Sick

I'm still sick. I've been sick for the past three days. I have a bad case of flu and head cold. It sucks. I'm also utterly depressed. I've fully convinced myself that I didn't pass. I just want to sleep and wake up in June. The release of the results will be tomorrow or on Saturd...

How Do You Imagine Your Funeral?

Her coffin was awfully large -- not the usual coffin you'd usually find. People would peer at her and would turn back smiling. She had her way.She always argued that dying is like sleeping forever and what better way to sleep forever but to sleep comfortably. So, they had her lying on her side. With a leg casually lying on a pillow. Her legs were carefully wrapped with mosquito net.Nobody was crying. She didn't want people to mourn. She wanted people to celebrate her life. Nobody was wearing black or white. And there were balloons everywhere!...

Sick! Sick! Sick!

I have not been feeling well. I would go online and read my favorite blogger's posts but I haven't been well enough to leave intelligent comments. I have this head cold which really sucks. I am blaming the bar results for this. I am so stressed out. And I hate that 12% passers only rumor.Oh, crap. I really am not doing so well with this waiting game.Update: I read that 90% of the barristers failed the Political Law exam and 70% failed the Labor Law subject. Only 9% passed the bar exams. So, that's like 522 of 5,800 barristers.Oh, crap. crap....

The White Cat

I do not know if you're superstitious enough to actually believe in dream interpretations. I've had a 1.0 grade in psychology where I learned all about dreams and dreaming. And there was nothing about a white cat warning you of a bad omen in any of those textbooks. I should know I practically memorized the textbook. I had a dream last night of me turning into a white cat and a huge hand. One big huge hand. It's like the hand in the Adams Family, but this hand is really, really big -- practically the size of a man.So, I got up and promptly went...

Overzealousness or Pure Crap?

A 15-year-old boy has been crucified in the Philipines today in a gory ritual to mark the death of Jesus Christ.Dozens of Filipinos, including the boy and an 18-year-old girl, were nailed to crosses and scores more whipped their backs into a bloody pulp as the country's devout Roman Catholics marked Good Friday. The voluntary crucifixions in the northern Philippines were the most extreme displays of religious devotion in this mainly Catholic country,...

Crazy People are the Most Interesting People in the World

"Crazy" people fascinate me. In fact, I think that they're the most interesting people in this planet. Have you noticed that geniuses have a tad of craziness in them? No, I do not want to go into rhetorics discussing the word "crazy". I do not mean to offend. Let's just say I just can't think of any politically-correct word to use at this moment. I do not want to go into a full-length discussion discussing the horrors of being mentally ill. I do not need to know from you. I've witnessed it myself.I remember Sussette, a friend of mine, once...

Resurrecting the Gods

To some she may seem an oddity, but to one Indian couple their newborn daughter is simply a God reincarnated. Their as yet un-named four-day-old baby girl was born with two faces, two mouths and four eyes in the rural Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, 50km north east of New Delhi. Her parents, Vinod and Susham Singh from a village called Sani, said their little girl was "a gift from God".Excited villagers claim she is the reincarnation of the Indian...

Catholic Bishops Disappoint Me

I am pissed off by the stand that the CBCP has taken with regard to the ZTE Scam. In the beginning, I was happy that they were taking a stand against the corruption. Nowadays, they are playing neither the right or left field. They are standing in the middle waiting for pendulum to hit. It's the ultimate mediocrity.Admittedly, there are as many people who would like for Gloria to stay in office as many as there are demanding for her to resign. Are the Church weighing both sides? These bishops are freaking blind! No, I am not afraid to say that...

Unforgettable Love Gone Awry

In life we all have an unspeakable secret, an irreversible regret, an unreachable dream and an unforgettable love.- Diego Marchi I confessed to all four.My secret? It's a dark story of a 10-year-old girl that I'd carry to my grave. My irreversible regret? Should I say regrets? Come to think of it though I have not done anything in my life that I deeply truly regret. I have not done anything that have shaken me to the core of my being that my life was changed irreparably by it.My unreachable dream. Again, should I say Dreams instead? My unforgettable...

How To Celebrate Your Birthday

My mother once told me that she feels the way she always had when she was 18 years old. I think I feel the same. I may be aging and pretty soon, I'd be ranting about my hypertension or diabetes. I may be drawing countries across my wrinkled face. I may be losing my teeth or my hair -- but I think I would always feel the same. I will always be the girl I was when I had my first kiss. My birthday though was never a big deal to me. I guess, it...

Evil Exists -- No, it's not Gloria Arroyo this time

For a couple of months now, the country has been abuzz with news of a syndicate allegedly taking school children forcibly. The suspicion is that the children are killed and body organs are sold to Western countries. My cousin has been worried about going home because she walks to school daily. Every time the authorities are asked to comment on this they would deny the veracity of the reports. And after hearing their comments, I would shrugged off the reports.Until today. This morning, I woke up with the whole place abuzz with the news that...

Are We Good Because We Are Good?

Are we good because we are good, or are we good because temptation never tried us?Earlier, my aunt called me again. She was furious with a cousin of mine,an attorney. She referred a client to him two years ago and the case was an annulment case. Now, this cousin of mine is actually a brilliant lawyer. So, I was quite shocked and understandably disappointed when I heard about what he has been doing.Last year, he applied for a position in the Public Attorneys Office and he got the job. It is a rule that if you’re working for the PAO office,...

The Meaning of Peace

I came across this story in Paulo Coelho's blog and I had to share it --I am with the Venezuelan writer Dulce Rojas, drinking coffee in Buenos Aires; we are discussing the idea of peace and how removed it has become from the human heart. Dulce then tells me the following story.A king offered a large prize to the artist who could best represent the idea of peace. A lot of painters sent their works to the palace, depicting woods at dusk, quiet rivers, children playing on the sand, rainbows in the sky, drops of dew on a rose petal. The king examined...

Sights and Sounds of My City

I love this city. It's a pretty small one. Something happens in one place, you'd hear about it in no time at all. It has the luxuries of modernity merging with the breeze of old province. You can go from one place to another without having to worry about traffic or getting mugged. Let me share with you the quirks of this city. Morry, you should definitely come for a visit.Gorgeous, isn't she? Her name is Donita but she's actually gay. The truth...

I'm Going Through Hell

This is it. My friends texted me informing me that the Bar Exam Results will be up next week. God! I'm going through physical, emotional and mental hell! I have this horrible, horrible knot on my stomach that just wouldn't go away! I am mentally preparing myself for the result. It's hell -- I tell you. It's pure hell. No, don't wish me luck. Just tell me how to go on with my life if I fail....

Weird Weather Premonition

This is not funny anymore. The flood receded a couple of days ago. So, for a couple of days we had a normal life. We were able to go downstairs, clean our room and slept on our bed. Everything was NORMAL or so I thoughtUntil the other night. Things were actually weird that night. At first there was this strong earthquake which prompted us to rush outside the house. Erbe refused to go out because he tucked himself to bed. He likes wrapping himself up in blanket so tight and he doesn't want to budge when he's in that position. I was screaming...

My Sixth Sense?

I came across this entry on the Blogger Exposed about Sixth Sense or intuitions. It was interesting because I totally can relate on her experiences. I left a comment and didn't give it another thought, until she left a message asking me about my own experiences. This was the first time someone asked me about this. I had a weird childhood so intuitions and sixth sense is nothing strange to me. I guess what I experience now are just remnants of what I used to experience when growing up. You see, it all started with my religiously zealot father....

Boy Raised as a Pet Bird

I came across this story in Daily Mail. A seven-year-old boy who can only communicate by chirping after his mother raised him as a pet bird has been rescued by Russian care-workers.Reports in Russian media claim the child, suffering from "Mowgli syndrome", was found in a tiny two-room apartment that appeared to double as an aviary, filled with cages containing dozens of birds, bird feed and bird droppings. Social worker Galina Volskaya, who helped...
